ARU Media Release

Wallabies lock Nathan Sharpe arrives in South Africa later tonight to bolster the touring squad ahead of Saturday’s Tri Nations Test with the Springboks in Johannesburg.

The Emirates Western Force skipper boarded a flight from Australia this morning to provide the Wallabies with further second row coverage following an injury to Dan Vickerman in the 27-15 win over South Africa in Durban at the weekend.

The Wallabies will be chasing back-to-back wins over the Springboks for the first time in 45 years when they line up against the World Cup champions on Saturday night.

Australia has only once won successive Tests in South Africa – in 1963 when the Wallabies beat the Boks 9-5 in Cape Town and 11-9 in Johannesburg two weeks later.
