The PSA competition consists of 7 teams and is conducted over 10 weeks of games.
The Smarter Than Smoking CSC competition is conducted in age group divisions and is held during Terms 2 and 3. The Open (years 11 & 12) and Year 9 competitions are run in Term 2, the Year 8 and Year 10 competitions are in Term 3. A link to the Smarter than Smoking CSC 2009 Season Handbook will be available here soon.
For any additional information regarding the Smarter than Smoking CSC competition, please email Smarter than Smoking Development Officer Sam Hutcherson: sam.hutcherson@rugbywa.com.au
GIRLS RUGBY
Due to the success of schoolgirls rugby over the past two years, RugbyWA will be offering a Girls Smarter than Smoking competition for the first four weeks of Term 4 in 2009 (depending on interest). Ther structure of the competition will focus on seven-a-side rugby with multiple games being played over four afternoons. RugbyWA Smarter than Smoking Develeopment Officers will be available to assist with coaching and will also be present on match day to approach the game as a learning experience.
SAMPLING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS
If you would like to see rugby played at your high school and you don't currently participate in the Smarter than Smoking CSC competition, a sampling opportunity may be what your school needs to generate some interest. Whether it is through a sport class, or an event at your school, RugbyWA Smarter than Smoking Development Officers are available to introduce rugby at your school throughout the year.
